Toolbar.dll is a file that many different programs use, so you need to check the disk location to verify what program this actually is, and whether or not it is malware. There are lots of spyware and adware programs that use the toolbar.dll file name as well.

How did I get Toolbar.dll Malware?

Downloading different software programs, including using known torrent sites, “downloading music, movies and software piracy” on your system can leave damaged or corrupted files on your  registry.

Be careful when making changes in your registry. It takes only one click to delete a program file that you shouldn’t. Should you delete anything to do with your PC’s operating system; you will find yourself with a computer that no longer works.

Use Windows Search Tool to Find toolbar.dll

  1. Go to Start > Search > All Files or Folders.
  2. In the “All or part of the the file name” section, type in “toolbar.dll” file name(s).
  3. To get better results, select “Look in: Local Hard Drives” or “Look in: My Computer” and then click “Search” button.
  4. When Windows finishes your search, hover over the “In Folder” of “toolbar.dll”, highlight the file and copy/paste the path into the address bar. Save the file’s path on your clipboard because you’ll need the file path to delete toolbar.dll in the following manual removal steps
