Security Certificates are issued to vendors from CA, (Certifying Authorities) and are used for secure communications, such as when you connect to your bank through the internet and are directed to an https:// channel rather then a http:// channel, you will
also see the picture of a ‘LOCK’ on the browser, this is letting you know that the security certificate is up to date and the communication is secure.
I suggest you click on the certificate and read what it says.
Is this the same website you are at?
Or have you been redirected to a ‘phishing website’, that’s trying to steal your information?
You should also check your web browser settings, to make certain that your homepage has not been changed.
Also, you can go into Tools >> (Internet Options) >> (Advanced) >> and scroll down near the bottom of the page, look to see if you may have accidentally checked the, “check for server revocation”, this should be unchecked in any case.
If none of these apply to you, then I suggest contacting your email administrator or if it’s web based like yahoo; then you should contact yahoo support.
I’m assuming you are using a newer browser, do to the older browsers had a problem with certificates that were set to expire in 1999… you could also try updating your browser if you haven’t done that already.
