Sometimes when traveling around the internet you will see an interesting message somewhere in the screen that might say Javascript: Void or it is possible that the message might even appear in an error message that is displayed when on a website.
The first thing that we will explain will be what Javascript: Void is, as well as what can be done to fix it, as well as ways to possibly fix Javascript: Void errors with different internet browsers.
Javascript: Void is an error that occurs for several different reasons.
This error is typically related to an issue with the JavaScript messaging, or coding on a website. Basically what happens is JavaScript tries to open the coding of the website and if it does not understand the instructions then it will not know what to do. If this happens you will see a Javascript: Void error message arise.
Here are some of the common reasons that Javascript: Void messages will arise as well as ways to possibly fix the problems listed below.
If you have started to get an error message that is stating there is an issue with the JavaScript and your proxy then the best thing is to turn your proxy off and leave the current website. Then restart your proxy and see if this has resolved the issues.
There might be times that you will be visiting a website and a Javascript: Void error message might appear. There are two different causes and possible fixes that this usually refers to. The first is usually if the actual website creator has incorrectly written his JavaScript, which is causing the Javascript: Void error message as the instructions are not correct.
If this is the case then the only thing that can be done is to contact the website owner and advise them of this issue. If the issues are usually occurring as soon as you go to that website then there is a possibility that the Javascript: Void Null is related to your own system causing the issue. If this is the case the best thing to do is to see if you have a pop up blocker turned on, and the easiest way to fix it is to turn off the pop up blocker.
Although it seems like common sense the cause of many Javascript: a Void (0) error message is because JavaScript is not actually turned on with the web browser. If you think that this could be the cause just follow these instructions for the web browser.
Fire Fox:
- Left click on tools and select options.
- Select the content tab.
- Check to see if there is a checkmark besides the box stating Enable JavaScript
- If there is no check then you should select it, restart Fire Fox and it should all work.
Internet Explorer
- Left click on the tools and select the internet options.
- Select the Security tab.
- Select the custom level button.
- Within the security settings tab select scripting and then active scripting. Then you must click enable.
If Javascript:Void continues to appear even after these steps there is a possibility that the problem could be related to a registry cleaner and if this is the case the best thing to try is to run a full system scan of a registry scanner or cleaner.
Many times these programs have the ability to detect and fix problems that are in your registry, which could be causing Javascript: Void error messages to continue to appear.
