This is why it is very important to have security programs on your system to deal with spyware and well as adware as these malicious programs have the possibility of sharing your personal information with people that should have never had it.
The best course of action to prevent spyware infections is to have a security program installed on your system as this will prevent the infection from even getting on the system.
There are a lot of programs present on the internet today that not only deal with spyware, adware, and viral infections but a full range of malware that should not gain any access to your system.
If it is too late and the infection has already appeared on your system the best thing to do is to download the latest definitions of the security program you have. Once this is completed it is best to do a full system scan to identify all spyware on your system. Once the scan is completed simply delete all the spyware from your system.
Once the spyware has been removed many people will run a full scan of their registry to see if there are any pieces of the spyware left behind.
It is possible that there are entries from the spyware that have been changed or added in the registry that will be missed by the security program as the changes are not being identified by the security program but will be seen by the registry cleaner.
