Exception Error – Fatal Exception Error

published on 27.05.2010 in System

Exception errors are usually error messages that are displayed prior to shutting down the system. These errors can be caused by many different issues.  Below are some of the situations that can cause exception errors to occur.

The first cause of the exception error occurring is due to an illegal operation of a piece of software. Most often this is related to issues within the coding of the program itself that is causing the exception error. Another reason that illegal operations within programs cause exception errors when shutting down the system is if there is data that has not been resolved, for example the program word pad has words that have been typed but not saved. If the system is shut down unexpectedly and the program does not have time to ask if the data is supposed to be saved the exception error message could arise as the program does not have time to correctly respond to the interaction within the system.

Another reason that the exception error can occur is if there is a physical hardware issue. Issues such as memory faults, lack of sufficient memory, corrupt or damaged hard drivers as well as driver issues can all cause exception errors to appear. If you believe that the hardware could be the cause of these errors then the best thing to do is to try to determine which piece of hardware is causing the exception errors to appear.

If there are conflicts between two or more programs then there can be exception errors that arise. This can often be seen with issues related to dll, or dynamic link library, files that are being accessed by multiple programs that cause corruption and lead to these exception errors. The best way to avoid dll errors that cause these exceptions is to run a registry cleaner through the system and ensure there are no issues within the registry, which is where a lot of issues can happen.

When the computer runs for a long time the heat created by the interaction within the system can often rise in relation to how long or hard the system has been running.  This rising of heat can cause the system to be less stable and may result in Exception error codes. If this is the case the best thing to do is to examine the fans or cooling systems that are supposed to be keeping the system cool enough to run smoothly and avoid exception errors. If there are issues with the cooling fan it is best to shut down the machine right away and replace the fan as this can lead to further exception error messages as well as the possibility of ruining the entire system.

One of the other reasons that an exception error might occur is if the access level that the user currently has on the system is not high enough to be able to access the files. This will cause an exception error message as the system does not have the required privileges to grant the access to that specific data. This can be resolved by ensuring the login profile has administrator rights.
